An ideal present!
|
Margret, a painSupport member from Germany, wrote in with her suggestion for a special little present - to give pleasure and a smile either to yourself or someone else.
Hello Jan, I have a tip for you if! It's a present that will give you or another one great pleasure. It's a booklet I've found which is just too lovely. Jane Seabrook's 'Furry Logic, A Guide to life's little challenges'.
I use it as a 'Let-go-of-gift'. That means I'm giving it to someone whom I love, that person may keep it as long as he wants and then give it to someone else to give them pleasure too.
Together with the wonderful animal pictures it's unbeatable. It would also be a good reward for achieving a goal!
Have a good time
Margret
New Zealand artist Jane Seabrook has succeeded in creating one of the most charming and amusing gift books ever! Using captivating watercolor animal portraits to illustrate phrases and sayings, many of them with new twists, she puts life into perspective on many levels--and does so with panache.
A precariously balanced frog says, "I try to take one day at a time...but sometimes several days attack me at once."
A hyperactive chipmunk announces, "It's been lovely. But I have to s c r e a m now."
If you'd like to buy the book from Amazon, type Jane Seabrook into the box below.

A helping hand
|
Boost your mood by giving yourself a relaxing hand massage. If you can, use the following essential oils with 10ml base oil, such as sweet almond oil:
2 drops bergamot
1 drop geranium
and 1 drop patchouli
If you have none ‘to hand’ you can use any oil. Handcream is not as effective as it is absorbed too quickly and you need the smoothness of the oil to relax your hands.
Make sure you are sitting or lying quietly, take a few gentle, deep breaths to help you relax, then smooth the oil over your hands. Work your way down each finger with gentle massaging strokes.
Noella Gabriel of Elemis Aromatherapy says,
“Massage the fleshy part of your hand in between your thumb and index finger. When exhaling, exert pressure into your thumb in the fleshy part to relieve tension and tiredness”.
Remember to massage your wrists too. Don’t massage joints if they are inflamed.

Yes !
|
We all need a boost from time to time during our day. Here's a simple way to help you to stay in a positive frame of mind.
When we have pain we often find ourselves resisting it or fighting it in some way. This causes extra stress and tension, whereas an attitude of acceptance helps us to stop the stress.
Saying 'yes' to whatever life throws at you is a good way to help with acceptance of a situation. When we accept a situation we are in a better position to find ways of dealing with it, even if it's to say to ourselves,
"OK, I feel bad right now, but this will soon pass and meanwhile I will stay calm and think of a way to help myself."
Make little signs that say YES and place them where you will see them often, at home or at work!

Take your quality quiet time walking in the park or country in the fresh air, enjoying a peaceful herbal or fruit drink or just sitting or lying somewhere allowing the silence or natural sounds bathe you. This quiet time will allow you to gather your thoughts and let your creative imagination flow.
